With that said, there is SO MUCH to learn about every character. Some I really wanted more interactions with, and as the game is progressing, we got patches where we could recruit and marry said NPCs, so there’s hope if you want one that isn’t available for such steps yet. Nearly all of them are very memorable and likable, even the baddies (not generic mobs) are very unique. The NPCs and allies are what really carries this game. Do you want to be a pure soul doing good? A very corrupted person helping the main baddie? You want to be entirely neutral? That’s all on you, and you’ll have much, and I mean much to think about on what to do next whenever you’re interacting with the story and characters. Sometimes you are offered multiple, or even dozens of ways in solving a quest. Plenty of content to absorb! What makes this game shine is that, you do not always have to fight, nor always use violence. You will get a lot of lore as well, which is nice considering the game is inspired by D&D and it provides what you’d expect. However there’s also a lot going on to make the world feel alive, fleshed out, and most definitely engaging enough where the side quests feel like they’re worth doing. ![]() It is up to you in stopping this evil, simple. A cult unleashed an evil, and this evil is corrupting the land. The story is quite straight forward in all honesty. Still, it’s safe to assume that nothing in here will reach the level of degeneracy present in something like Flexible Survival, which makes sense as this is actually being sold, even if just as a “donation” for the devs. In CoC1 the story was basically “go save the world”, and it served its purpose, and while that main goal still stands in the sequel, the various interactions you can have with Kasyrra leave hope that they won’t just lead to “GOOD CHOICE” and “EVIL CHOICE” at the end of the game, where the evil one just gives you a smut filled bad ending and lets you reload to get the actual ending.Haven’t found anything out of the ordinary in regards of sex scenes, but I haven’t really looked yet. The main story is a lot more involved than it was in the previous game, especially because the main antagonist actually shows up to do things instead of everything already been done and you fixing it. Stats have been streamlined and don’t seem to be reduced by items and combat at all. The greatly reduced level cap and amount of perks (and no Giacomo to sell you stat boost at the start of the game) make combat harder. ![]() Combat takes longer every single time because you now have companions to worry about, and while you can let the AI decide their moves, the harder fights require manual control (or at least they do while the level is capped at 6 so you can’t outscale the later enemies). Having a map to go around in instead of dice rolls to discover new places when exploring is a welcomed addition. Characters have more depth this time around, probably because they have more interactions. Characters and improvementsĪn improvement over the first and the /hgg/ mod, but that last one might still end up with more content simply because it’s a mod. You can lead two of these companions at a time against a world full of lustful enemies and corrupted magics, building up your party and your own Champion’s talents to bring to bear countless combinations of strengths and weaknesses against your demonic foes. No matter what you choose to transform yourself into, you’ll be accompanied on your perverse adventures by a group of eclectic companions, from catgirl clerics and kitsune sorceresses, to chastity-caged elf dickgirls and domineering orc amazons. The Linksys WRT54G was the first router fitted with open source firmware, but Yamada Denki, the biggest electronics store in my part of town, does not sell any Linksys products. So I started doing a bit of research on OpenWRT and its cousin DD-WRT and what sort of routers that are compatible with them I could get locally here in Yokohama, Japan. So you can imagine that whatever router I’m using is always getting a good workout. Of the 8 PCs and Macs in my home and office that are sharing a cable internet connection, at least four are on all the time, crunching spam data received from around the world day and night. The router firmware obviously had trouble tracking which entries in its Network Address Translation (NAT) table could be discarded and the table would overflow, making connections to the outside world hit and miss, as NAT entries are essential for replies to requests sent to servers out there to get back into the LAN. When I investigated I noticed that the internal log of the NEC WarpStar was full of error messages like these:Ĥ 18:09:29 NAT TX-ERROR List Create Error : UDP 192.168.1.102 : 31320 > 201.29.227.157 : 7701 (IP-PORT=1)Ĥ 18:09:29 NAT TX-ERROR List Create Error : UDP 192.168.1.102 : 31320 > 99.227.142.5 : 9205 (IP-PORT=1)Ī router reset (briefly pulling the power cord) would cure it for a few hours to two days at most, but then the problem always came back. When I clicked on links in the browser, either it was very slow or it returned an error or timed out on me. Ī few weeks ago I started having random problems connecting to the internet. Months ago a friend had recommended OpenWRT, another open source solution for low cost broadband routers, but following the old “don’t try to fix it if it ain’t broken” mantra, I had stuck with my standard NEC Aterm WR6650S WarpStar router (firmware revision 8.72). I’m very impressed with its rich feature set and ease of installation. Note: (Thanks to Ronald’s Comment below) – You need to start the TFTP transfer within seconds after powering on the routerĪs soon as it completes the upload, the router automatically installs it and reboots, so give it plenty of time to do this (up to 5 minutes).Today I installed the open source router firmware DD-WRT on a newly purchased Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 broadband router. To my very pleasant surprise, this sorted out the problem and the old working dd-wrt firmware was successfully uploaded. I tried increasing the block size from the default 512 bytes to 8192 bytes and the timeout to 255 seconds for good measure. ![]() I put my firmware file and the tftp.exe file in the same folder, opened a command prompt and navigated to the folder containing tftp.exe and my default firmware. exe file that you can put in any folder and run from the command line. I downloaded the “WinAgents TFTP Client” from the download page and gave it a try. Fortunately the first line on that page “The standard TFTP command-line utility does not support some very important features like blocksize option” caught my attention. In my search to find a solution for this, I came across another TFTP client here. However, I was using the standard windows 7 TFTP client and the firmware transfer kept getting interrupted part way through. However, I couldn’t get the connectivity I required.įinally I realised that after a single 30 second reset (ie holding the hard reset button that you need a pin to access for 30 seconds), you could access the router via TFTP on the default IP address (192.168.1.1). There are various instructions on how to do a “30/30/30 reset” such as here. ![]() I tried various ways of trying to regain some control. It really was “bricked” (ie had the same functionality as a house brick). ![]() No connectivity to it was possible at all. It just rebooted itself over and over again every ten seconds or so. I installed this new firmware on my WNR2200, but unfortunately it rendered my router unbootable. I experimented with the firmware-mod-kit (see this page for info) and added a package to the distribution. I had successfully installed this software on my router, but still wanted to add some additional functionality. One is that you want to enable new functionality that isn’t supported in the default manufacturer’s firmware.Ī popular project that supplies advanced firmware for household routers is dd-wrt. There are various reasons for installing new firmware on an old router that you may have lying around. While the car only gained 10 horsepower on paper, the throttle response and drivability improved across the board, now justifying Chevy’s “Z” prefix. The coupe received updated sheet metal (including a new roofline) and underhood, the 2.8 received a new set of aluminum heads, complete with a redesigned intake manifold. However, in 1988 Chevy refreshed the Cavalier and Z-24. To my mind, in 1986 the math was more Z-28 minus 15, not Z-28 minus 4. While This Chevy ad tried to equate the Cavalier Z-24 with the Camaro and Corvette, the car just didn’t deliver. I test drove a couple of these back in the day, and while the specification sheet listed a pretty solid horsepower rating (for the time), this car jut didn’t seem to deliver very much get up and go. To celebrate this new found power, Chevy offered the Z-24 performance package with upgraded wheels and suspension, ground effects, and an optional rear spoiler. This engine was a step in the right direction, delivering the traditional low-end torque domestic car fans were looking for while also compensating for the Cavalier’s relatively high curb weight. The Cavalier was already a couple of years old in 1986 when Chevy decided to add the Citation’s 2.8 liter 60 degree V-6 to the option sheet. While I agree with these assessments, Chevy did improve the Cavalier over the years, and this second generation model may be it’s sweet spot, especially this Z-24 model. Critics tell us the car was too heavy, remained unchanged over the years, and didn’t break any new ground. (first posted ) Chevy takes quite a beating over the Cavalier. ![]() You now need to determine the number of turns that will be required for each secondary winding. Using the example above, 0.22 A x 500cm/A = 110cm I would start with a 29 gauge wire (127.7cm) for the primary. This number may be smaller for small transformers, and larger for large power transformers that decision is again up to the designer. The next step will be a subject for debate and adjustment depending on the transformer characteristics: I generally start at approximately 500 circular mills (cm) per amp to choose the starting wire gauge. For example, a transformer with a 12-V, 2-A output at 120 V input would be:ġ2 V x 2 A = 24 VA 24 VA x 1.10 (110%) = 26.4 VA needed in the primary winding Ģ6.4 VA/120 V = 0.22 A in the primary winding For power losses, I start at a 10% increase in the input power, assuming a 90% efficient transformer. The primary current will be equal to the total output power plus transformer power losses, divided by the primary voltage. The primary winding current and wire size needs to be determined. There are several variables to consider when using these formulas you will need to consult the core manufacturer’s data for answers to specifications such as flux density and stacking factor.ġ) N(p) = (V x 10 8) / (4.44 B A f K) sine waveĢ) N(p) = (V x 10 8) / (4 B A f K) square waveĦ) Open circuit voltage (Voc) = N(s)/N(p) x V(p)ħ) Loaded voltage (Vld) = Voc-Ĩ) Temp rise (T(C)) = (losses/(0.008 x surface area))Ī(l) = Inductance per turn squared for a given core Certain cores don’t require a bobbin, but we’ll save those for another discussion.Īfter selecting a core and bobbin, you need to calculate the correct number of primary turns needed using formula 1 or 2 (see “Basic Design Formulas,” below). Make sure a sufficient bobbin style and material is available, and that you have all of the mechanical measurements to determine winding details later on in the design. Most core types will also need a winding bobbin to fit the core that you choose, and possibly assist in the mounting of the finished product. The exact core chosen may depend on board spacing, location, mounting style, or any of a number of physical and electrical parameters that only you can decide. There are many other core types, and many sizes, shapes, and material grades within the cores listed above. ![]() Remember this is only a guideline it’s not uncommon to go outside of these ranges (e.g., audio transformers can use silicon steel laminations and operate from 20 to 20,000 Hz). At 400 to 2000 Hz, consider a tape-wound or nickel-alloy core. When less than 400 Hz, a silicon steel lamination is generally used. You should consult with a core manufacturer to obtain the specific characteristics and power-handling capabilities for each type and size of core. The first step is to determine the type of core for the design. Note: At this step, it’s important to point out that all of the decisions made concerning the design will be verified through calculations that can only be made after many “rules of thumbs’” and “educated guesses” are used to get us to that point. Environmental conditions may also be a consideration. There may very well be other parameters to consider, both physical and electrical, such as available space for mounting, mounting style, isolation requirements, leakage currents, etc. At the minimum, these include the input voltage(s) and frequency, and the output voltage(s) and current(s). ![]() You need to determine a few things before you can start to design a transformer, though. This file type includes high resolution graphics and schematics when applicable. However, when the right part just can’t be found, you may want to consider designing a custom transformer to fit your specific requirements. This item is available in a range of colours:īad Boy Black ( CLOCKDBL ), Punk Pink (CLOCKDPI ), Purple (CLOCKDPU ) and White (CLOCKDWH ).Thousands of ready-made off-the-shelf transformers out in the market are available to be designed into electronic or electrical circuits.
